2. US economic Goals The US Economy has 6 goals: -Freedom -efficiency -equity -security -stability -growth The US Government decides its regulatory policies based on the 6 goals. Ultimately, the regulations put in are not meant to inhibit the economic decisions of the consumers and businesses.

3. Problems There are several problems with the lack of regulations such as potential for price gouging and uneven distribution of wealth. This idea of unequal wealth has prompted massive debate about the role of the government in ensuring the economic health of its citizens.

4. Wealth distribution in America As poverty numbers grow and the debate over minimum wages, wealth and welfare stalls, its important to look at the numbers.

5. Case Study: Louisiana In 2013 CNN proposed dozens of possible stories ranging from disease to war. They investigated and reported on the 5 stories based on public selections. One of these stories was the unequal distribution of wealth in America. The case study took place primarily in Parish, Louisiana.

6. Opinion and Solutions Write an essay (3-4 paragraphs) explaining your point of view on the wealth distribution in America and possible solutions. Use your knowledge of America’s Mixed Market to theorize possible responses to the Wealth Inequality issue. This is a very open ended assignment because I want you to think outside the box and create your own opinions and solutions.
