Why we sometimes groan about serving Feel too busy with obligations – My work, my family Feel burnt out – I’ve done all that Feel unqualified – Not skilled like others (insecure) Feel lazy – Tired and not that interested Feel hurt or put down from past – Remember when… Feel insignificant – Won’t matter, won’t be noticed Feel too important – My skills would be wasted Prefer to serve God… in my own way

Readers Digest August, 2014, p. 16 Did you ever feel like you’re part of something greater than yourself?

Caring about someone else’s ministry 1. Celebrate – Ask: What do you like about your ministry? 2. Thank – Tell them you appreciate them and why. 3. Support – How can I pray for you in your ministry this week (or help)?

Finding where I fit How to find your spiritual gift 1. Start serving somewhere you are needed or invited. 2. What other needs do you notice? What do you notice that could be done better? Be open to helping… 3. What do you enjoy doing? (Not just wish you could) 4. What do others confirm that you do effectively (your spiritual effect, not just your skill)? Attitude check: As you serve, begin to focus where you are most gifted, but still be willing to serve where you are not. Teamwork: When God shows us where we fit, He places us alongside others who work with us as a team.
