EXPANSION Creating more “colorful” sentences -ED IN THE BEGINNING OF A SENTENCE

Why do we do this? Varying sentence beginnings is what makes your writing flow. It’s boring to keep reading “the” or “a.” Today we will learn another way to begin a sentence. This will help add some “flavor” to your writing.

-ed + who/what + action Example: Tired from school, ED the girl WHO fell asleep on the couch the moment her head hit the pillow. ACTION

Noun-part + ed + who/what + action Example: Exhausted from the race, -ED the runner WHO collapsed at the side line waiting for assistance. ACTION LET’S TRY A FEW TOGETHER!
