5 Education Adjustment Program Definition DET uses the definition from the DSM-IV-TR and the five disorders that fall within the category of Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD): –Autistic Disorder –Asperger’s Disorder –Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified –Rett’s Disorder –Childhood Disintegrative Disorder Outcome: No change

6 Education Adjustment Program Existing Criteria (until 26 June 2009) Evidence Required Diagnosis of a Pervasive Developmental Disorder Completed by a registered paediatrician, psychiatrist or neurologist on the EAP Verification Form – ASD (EAP VER 3)

11 Education Adjustment Program The student’s identified Pervasive Developmental Disorder results in activity limitations and participation restrictions at school requiring significant education adjustments. Criterion 2 : Activity Limitations/ Participation Restrictions

12 Education Adjustment Program Criterion 2 : Activity Limitations/ Participation Restrictions Evidence Required The student’s level of functioning Programs and adjustments in areas of need that have been implemented and the achieved outcomes Programs and adjustments that need to be maintained (wholly or partially) to address the student’s educational needs
