Iraq Currently As of October 2009,the United States has about 130,000 combat forces in Iraq. The Official word is that as of August 2010 our combat mission in Iraq will end and the number of US soldiers in Iraq will be roughly 50,000. By December 31 st 2011 no military personnel will remain in Iraq as required by the U.S. Iraq Status Forces agreement

Cost of war Total the combined cost of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars nears 1 trillion dollars. With Iraq costing roughly ¾ of the total. Even worse the war has cost about 4,300 American lives and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilian lives. In addition to this our economy has taken a severe blow which is one of the reasons for the current economic recession.

Toll on Citizens of Iraq 70% of Iraqis believe US occupation have made the situation worse 47% want US forces to leave immediately 34% want US forces to leave when situation improves Most Iraqi’s feel the situation will improve immediately following US departure
