INTRODUCTION A food chain is a community or organisms where one member is eaten in turn by another member. Food chains can involve any type of living thing including, plants, animals, and people. These food chains ultimately become a food web: a community of organisms where there are several interrelated food chains.

Levels of Food Chains Level 1 – Producers – organisms that make there own food Level 2 – Primary Consumer (herbivores) – only eat plants Level 3 – Secondary Consumer (carnivores) – eat the herbivores Level 4 – Tertiary Consumer – carnivores or omnivores

Conclusion Your final task is to create a food chain or food web of your choice using the large white paper in the art center. It must have at least 3 strands of including a producer and two consumers. - Make sure your arrows are drawn in the correct direction - Please draw a picture and write a brief description for each stage

Evaluation You will be evaluated on your food web design on paper using a 3,2,1 scoring format. 3: 3+ strands, picture and description written neatly with detail 2: 2 strands, some description and some pictures 1: 1 strand, little picture and little description
