4 MHPE Volunteer Resource – Tab 6 Induction: Looking after your health and wellbeing Burnout Burnout is a condition sometimes experienced by people working for the welfare of others. It can involve emotional exhaustion and reduced interest and activity. Taking on too much, too intensely, for too long, increases the risk of burnout.
