VOLLEYBALL

HOW TO HIT THE BALL LEGALLY …… Forearm Pass : *Knees bent *Arms fully extended *Hands together *Make contact with forearm
3
ITS IMPORTANT TO USE LEGAL HITS Set: *Make contact above your head *Use your fingers to “spring” the ball upwards *Focus on extending your arms to the ceiling instead of out in front of you.
4
SERVING Serves can be made overhand or underhand. Servers must stand behind the end line and make contact with the ball before their feet come into play. The ball must go over the net after you hit it……your teammates cannot help a serve over the net. Serves are allowed to touch the net as long as they go over. Serves are not allowed to touch the ceiling. The other team is NOT allowed to spike your serve.
5
STEPS TO MAKING A GOOD OVERHAND SERVE *Opposite foot out in front *Use a straight arm to toss- not too high- a good toss would land just to the inside of the front foot. *Make contact with an open hand on solid palm. Contact should be made above head level and above the serving shoulder.

PLAYING THE GAME -- Rotation occurs clockwise….and your team should rotate when the ball comes back to you after the other team has served and lost a point. --Maximum of 3 hits per side -- A player is not allowed to hit the ball twice in a row. That is called a “double hit”. --A ball that lands ON the boundary line is IN
7
PLAYING THE GAME --A legal hit is contact with the ball by a player’s body, above and including the waist, which does not allow the ball to visibly come to a rest --If two or more players contact the ball simultaneously, it is considered one hit, and the players involved may not participate in the next hit. -- If the ball hits the ceiling an comes back down on your own side, it is playable as long as you have not used 3 hits. If it goes to the other side then it will be their point.
