Channels -Separation of the colors of the final images onto distinct sheets. Red, Green and Blue Red, Green and Blue RGB Color Channels

Color information channels are created automatically when you open a new image. The image’s color mode determines the number of color channels created. For example, an RGB image has a channel for each color (red, green, and blue) plus a composite channel used for editing the image.

Alpha channels store selections as grayscale images. You can add alpha channels to create and store masks, which let you manipulate or protect parts of an image.

Spot color channels specify additional plates for printing with spot color inks.

Brush Tool The Brush tool is a basic painting tool. It works like a traditional drawing tool by applying the color using strokes. It's located in the standard Tool Bar and its default shortcut is the letter B.

Brushes Panel The Brushes Panel is the right place to create, edit, save and load a particular brush behavior or Brush Preset.

Using Color adjustment commands Color Balance command Changes the overall mixture of colors in an image.

Hue/Saturation command Adjusts the hue, saturation, and lightness values of the entire image or of individual color components.

Photo Filter command Makes color adjustments by simulating the effects of using a Kodak Wratten or Fuji filter in front of a camera lens.

Selective Color command Adjusts the amount of process colors in individual color components.

Vibrance command the vibrance command is to Adjusts color saturation so clipping is minimized.

Replace Color command Replaces specified colors in an image with new color values.

Levels command Adjusts color balance by setting the pixel distribution for individual color channels.

Channel Mixer command Modifies a color channel and makes color adjustments not easily done with other color adjustment tools.

Image for Special Effects Image editors usually have a list of special effects that can create unusual results. Images may be skewed and distorted in various ways. Scores of special effects can be applied to an image which include various forms of distortion, artistic effects, geometric transforms and texture effects.
