IMAGE EDITING Midterm Lecture 2015-2016

Channels -Separation of the colors of the final images onto distinct sheets. Red, Green and Blue Red, Green and Blue RGB Color Channels

Color information channels are created automatically when you open a new image. The image’s color mode determines the number of color channels created. For example, an RGB image has a channel for each color (red, green, and blue) plus a composite channel used for editing the image.

Alpha channels store selections as grayscale images. You can add alpha channels to create and store masks, which let you manipulate or protect parts of an image.

Spot color channels specify additional plates for printing with spot color inks.

Brush Tool The Brush tool is a basic painting tool. It works like a traditional drawing tool by applying the color using strokes. It's located in the standard Tool Bar and its default shortcut is the letter B.

Brushes Panel The Brushes Panel is the right place to create, edit, save and load a particular brush behavior or Brush Preset.

Brush Effects using Lightning Brush and Lens.

Image for Special Effects Image editors usually have a list of special effects that can create unusual results. Images may be skewed and distorted in various ways. Scores of special effects can be applied to an image which include various forms of distortion, artistic effects, geometric transforms and texture effects.

Image Editing Special Effects Photo Collage of Polaroids a single photograph into a collage of polaroids, with each polaroid containing a small section of the overall image.

Image Editing Special Effects Dispersion Effects Giving an image a dispersion or splatter effect Can create an awesome dynamic images.
