Copyright is designed to protect people who design things from being cheated, basically. If you work hard to make something (song/ pen/ vacuum cleaner/ phone/ picture …) then you ought to be paid for the success. The rule is – if you didn’t make it, you can’t take it.

Assume that ANYTHING on the Net belongs to someone, and you would have to ask them and probably have to pay them to use their stuff. And they might say no.

BUT in school you can use their stuff, because it is for education use, not making money, as long as you say EXACTLY where you got it.
