2 Tyco D&I Outcomes  Foster a workforce comprising a mix of people with different thinking styles, perspectives and approaches to work...so that decision making and creativity are enhanced  Foster a workforce and leadership team that reflects the diversity of our customers and communities so that we are better positioned to anticipate market and cultural changes Diversity: Inclusion:  Ensure that our managers demonstrate an inclusive leadership style that engages all colleagues to contribute fully... so that we compete successfully  Foster a workforce culture and climate that is welcoming and supportive of all to maximize the potential of all employees so that we are known as a great place to work

3 D&I Resistance Mode Three Modes of D&I Leadership  “This is really a U.S. affirmative action issue”.  “My job is to hire the most qualified person. Period”.  “We just don’t have the time to work on D&I stuff”.  “A quota system is not legal in my country”.  “My employees complain but they really don’t understand the issues we face”. D&I Maintenance Mode  “This is really no big deal; I have the information they want”.  “We are doing most of the things being talked about already”.  “We have talked about D&I a great deal in the past; and then we go back to work”.  “The quarterly report is no big deal”. D&I Opportunity Mode  “Would the behaviors and effectiveness of my team change if we have more diverse backgrounds and skills”?  “I know that fixing problems my people keep telling me will help our business”.  “I can feel the energy when people know they are able to contribute”. 6 Defining Diversity D&I Leadership Expectations; Get the Conversation Started Building a Better Work Environment − Focused on respect − Universal concept − Positive behaviors − Action plans  Two training modules have been developed:  TSP Leadership and all employees will complete both modules in ‘09 − Common definitions − Raise awareness − Increase support − Demographic changes
