1 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 1Corinthians 13:6 Teddy Chang Assistant pastor October 26, 2014

2 I. According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, 1. Definition of INIQUITY  Gross injustice; wickedness.  A wicked act or thing; sin. 2. Example of INIQUITY  The use of illegal narcotics is not only a destroyer of personal health but also an iniquity that undermines our society.

3 II. The iniquity of those who acted against God in Old and New Testament time as follows:  The beginning of Adam’s sin.  Cain’s murder.  The sinful residences of Sodom and Gomorrah.  Pharaoh of Egypt.  King Saul’s disobedience.  Gomer’s whoredom.  Judas Iscariot’s betrayal  Ananias and Sapphire's lie.

4 III. True love doesn’t support iniquity for some reasons:  The broken marriage.  The broken friendship.  The dead churches.  The corrupt business.  The corrupt governments.  The confused society.

5 IV. Love rejoices in the truth (1Corunthian 13:6) King David’s confession in Psalm 51:1, 5,9 :  1 “1Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.”  “5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.”  “9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.”

6 V. God wants you to depart from the world’s iniquity,  19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 2 Timothy 2:19  9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. Hebrews 1:9  14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2:14
