Editorials An editorial is a piece that is written for a newspaper, magazine, or news website, that takes a particular point of view It usually expresses the author’s or the newspaper company’s opinion about an issue It is NOT meant to be read as a “straight” factual report Usually the editorial section of a newspaper is clearly differentiated from the news section, but not always – so be careful!

Writing Assignment #6 You choose one of the following two options: Do some research and find a company that has been having problems recently. Write a newspaper editorial that takes a point of view as to what the company should do to improve. Write a newspaper editorial about the Chinese economy. What new or different policies should the Chinese government take to encourage more economic growth?
