3 Conceptual Background and Definition

4 . Educational Technologies are all the resources that can be used to facilitate the educational processes. While, Instructional Technology is the theory and practice of design, development, uses management and evaluation of the teaching learning process

5 . While, technology are the material objects or processes to solve human problems. Educational technology can be categorized into four main types, namely; print medium that has to do with all sorts of books and paperwork, textbooks, dictionaries, learning pack

6 General Objective: Acquaint seminar participants with the important roles educational technologies play in the school system

7 Specific Objective. -Create awareness in the use of educational technology resources in school administration. -Sensitize seminar /participants on the use of educational technology resources for pedagogic purposes. -Inform seminar/participants on the use of educational technological tools for research in education

8 Expected Outcome. -Seminar participants are expected to apply technological technology in school administration -Seminar participants are expected to make use of educational technology resources for pedagogic purposes. -Seminar participants are expected to avail themselves with the advantages of knowing and using educational research based websites.

9 EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGICAL TOOLS AND PLATFORMS THAT FACILITATE ADMINISTRATION, PEDAGOGY AND RESEARCH

10 In the Administrative domain, electronic governance can help facilitate school administration as follows: -School/Class Website -Digitally-assisted pedagogic supervision -Yahoo Group -Cloud Computing -School Journals -Open Office -Computerized or digital report cards

11  -Open Educational Resources ( OER). -Massive Online courses -Open University Programmes -Distance Learning -Mobile learning -Open Journals -Virtual laboratories -Wiki and Blogs -Blog: Web blog or Web diary

12  Interactive Whiteboards and electronic Touch Screens -The Digital lesson note boards -Differentiated or Individualized instructions through portfolio -On Line curriculum

13  THE IMPORTANCE AND BENEFITS IN THE USE OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY. - It is easy to access, though on line curriculum,, textbooks, journals, individualized learning packs etc. - Motivation: computer based teaching/learning can give instant feedback and explain correct answers. - Subjects are made easy to learn through computer simulators, observational learning through video grams and audio cassettes

14  Differentiated Instructions. Learning can be domesticated, tailored and customized to suit the individual needs, individual learning styles, pace and academic plan of learners. -Learning is made more real and concrete through teaching aids. -A community of learning and practice, professional network support and technical assistance can be given to colleagues

15  Learning can be interactive even though there is distant through. teleconferencing and social network and technology e.g. wikis, blogs, twitters, etc. -Can improve upon school management through effective personnel management and computerized management of academic careers

16 Conclusion: Educational technology in all its form should be included and used in education for the attainment of effective school.
