Newton Scooter Project Newton’s 3 rd Law of Motion
2
Purpose To design and construct a vehicle powered ONLY through Newton’s 3 rd Law of Motion Newton’s 3 rd Law – if one object exerts a force on another object, the second object exerts an equal force on the first.
3
Requirements Vehicle must use Newton’s 3 rd Law to move forward. Can ONLY use scrap materials (paper, straw, string, cardboard, etc.) Vehicle MUST travel forward 2 meters across the finish line. Must stay within a 1 meter width.
4
Limitations You CANNOT interfere with movement of your vehicle. You CANNOT use any form of electricity or pull of gravity to move vehicle. The use of a “track” or string is permitted to help guide the vehicle
