1. FAIR TRADE AND SOCIAL PROJECTS Cultural Hall

2. Cultural Hall Culture is an important aspect of life which also gives identity to a community. In this estate, community halls are hired for weddings and other cultural events to celebrate festivals and functions at a grand scale. To the estate community this meant travelling a fair distance to halls in Haputale and Bandarawale, an expensive affair. Thus, a decision was made by the members to establish a cultural Hall using the Fair Trade premium funds. The project resulted in a saving of approximately Rs.10,000 per event. The construction began in 2005 and completed in 2008.

Cultural Hall – a walk through 2005 : Laying the foundation stone for the cultural hall 2006 : Kitchen was built 2007: Dining Hall - cultural hall 2007 : Photo copy machine equipment & complete sound systems were installed 2008 : All necessary items/ equipment were purchased to conduct weddings & cultural events

4. 2008: New curtains for the cultural halls were purchased 2008: preparing of cultural hall garden 2008: Opening of the Cultural hall 2009: Purchased a generator the Cultural hall
