Again this year, you will be able to input the names of students that need Waterford for Intervention. This Intervention is for your Tier III students. The steps for setting up your class are as follows:
3
Go to the Teacher Site http://ewok Enter your username and password: Your username is the first letter of your first name and your last name, all lowercase. (no spaces)(i.e. mwright) Your password is: Steers14 (Capital S, no spacing) (ALL passwords are now Steers14)
4
The first time that you log in, you will be asked to change your password. Please write down your new password as soon as you change it and keep in a secure place!!
5
Click “Save.”
6
Log in using your new password.
7
To add students, click on “Students.”
8
Click on your class name. (This will be your last name.)
9
Some of you will already have students in your class based upon your response to my initial Waterford email.
10
Enter your Student’s First Name (which will automatically copy to their “Preferred Name” box), Last Name, Unique Student ID (their student ID#), and their grade.
11
Click “Save.”
12
Log out when you finish adding students.
13
When you have added your lowest, struggling students into your Waterford class, click on the Waterford Icon located on the Student Computer in your room.
14
This text box will appear. Click “Run.” It will take 20-30 seconds for the Waterford program to appear.
15
Next, you will click on your school’s name,
16
then your class,
17
and finally, your student’s name. ( Eventually, students will learn to click through this process.)
18
The student will then verify that this is his/her name.
19
They will then select whether they will be working in Reading or Math and Science.
20
The first time that the student works in the program, they will complete a diagnostic assignment to determine the Waterford level on which to start the student. After that, the program will progress to the next activities, increasing the level of difficulty when mastery has been achieved.
21
Each campus has only 5 licenses! This means five students can be working on Reading while five students are working on Math/Science. Because of this, it is extremely important that you closely monitor students on the program, and that each grade-level team works out a schedule during their RTI time. I will be happy to assist with this process.
