HEALTHY SLEEP Made by the pupils of 7a

CHILDREN AND SLEEP Every person needs a sleep. Small children sleep very long. The rhythms begin to develop at about six weeks, and by three to six months most infants have a regular sleep-wake cycle. By the age of two, most children have spent more time asleep than awake. Sleep is important for a child at this period of time.
3
SLEEP AND NEWBORNS (1-2 MONTHS) Newborns sleep about 11 to 18 hours a day. The sleep period may last a few minutes to several hours. During a sleep, they are often active, twitching their arms and legs, and smiling all the time.
4
SLEEP AND PRESCHOOLERS (3-5 YEARS) Preschoolers usually sleep 11-13 hours each night and most do not nap after five years of age. As with toddlers, difficulty falling asleep and waking up during the night are common.
5
SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN (5-12 YEARS) Children aged 5 to 12 need 10-11 hours of sleep. At the same time, there is a demand on their time from school (e.g., homework, sports and other social activities).
6
Typical sleep needs Infants About 16 hours per day of sleep Babies and toddlers From 6 months to 3 years: between 10 and 14 hours per day. Infants and young children usually get their sleep from a nighttime sleep and naps. Children Ages 3 to 6: between 10 and 12 hours of sleep Ages 6 to 9: about 10 hours of sleep Ages 9 to 12: about 9 hours of sleep Teenagers About 9 hours of sleep per night. Teens have trouble getting enough sleep because they are biologically programmed to want to stay up later and sleep later in the morning. Adults For most adults, 7 to 8 hours of sleep.
7
Do you want to have a healthy sleep? It’s very simple.
8
Try to go to sleep at the same time every night and to get up at the same time every morning.
9
Prepare your body for a good night’s sleep. You may take a bath and drink warm milk.
10
Don’t eat a heavy meal late in the day.
11
Your room should be clean, quiet, warm and your bed should be comfortable.

Try not to take naps during the day. Naps may make you less sleepy at night.

As you see, the average pupil of the form 7a has a good sleep. Sleep is a good thing and we can’t live without it. In spite of the fact that a man spends the third part of his life on sleep, it plays an important role in our life. It gives us strength, positive emotions and health.
