BGV 03-nov-2015CERNMassimiliano Ferro-Luzzi 2Status Cooling installed for BOTTOM detectors TOP lines from manifold are in closed loop with valve quasi-closed Valdir reports a leak when circulating of about 21 to 36 ml/h –See BGV meeting #65, 8-sep-2015 Reports also: when OFF the leak seems smaller, < 1.78 ml/h –See BGV meeting #66, 22-sep-2015 Access on 14-oct-2015, http://lblogbook.cern.ch/BGV/95:http://lblogbook.cern.ch/BGV/95 –Level at ~1.4l, down from ~2.6l on 07-sep-2015, thus ~1.5 ± 0.4 ml/h –Refilled and restarted cooling circulation, set point 0.7bar 15C Chiller turns OFF (failure) on 19-oct-2015 ? –http://lblogbook.cern.ch/BGV/97 “the relay lock of the safety mechanism is still active”http://lblogbook.cern.ch/BGV/97 Need access to restart (we have no remote power cycle option)

BGV 03-nov-2015CERNMassimiliano Ferro-Luzzi 3 Plan for TS3 Prepare four distributors with all tubing and insulation –Leak-test in the lab Set up a plateau just above the BOTTOM distributors, with brackets on the four poles of the BGV frame Install distributors (when ?) Connect TOP module cooling lines (when ?) Circulation test, check flow and leaks at module connections Finish insulation Chiller will probably need a refill If time enough: test with dry air interlock

BGV 03-nov-2015CERNMassimiliano Ferro-Luzzi 4 Remote power cycling of chiller Chiller now on UPS-backed mains How to make it remote power-cyclable ? Power Relay switch (Default closed) LAN-controlled mains sockets Solution 2 (no UPS backup) Solution 2 (no UPS backup) Solution 1 (with UPS backup) Solution 1 (with UPS backup) Where can we find one in RA43 ?
