4 break apart/take away -break apart – to make not whole -take away – to remove something Break apart and take away mean to subtract in math.

5 cardinal number 3 3 3 4 cardinal number – a number to show how many The numbers 3 and 4 are cardinal numbers.

6 calendar calendar – a chart that shows days and dates within a month or year The calendar shows that my birthday will be in two months.

7 circle circle – a shape where all points on the outside are the same distance from the center You aim the dart at the middle circle on a dart board.

8 coin coin – a round, metal piece of money A coin can be a quarter, nickel, dime, or penny.

9 cone cone – a 3-dimensional shape with a point on one end and a circle on the other The cone showed that the road was blocked off today.

10 cube cube – a 3-dimensional shape that has 6 faces that are shaped like squares I put 6 ice cubes in my drink.

11 cylinder cylinder - a 3-dimensional shape with ends shaped like circles My mom uses cylinders to hold food.

12 day/date day – one of the seven days in a week; Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday date – a specific number within a month or year The day is Thursday, and the date is 09-16-2010.

13 graph graph – a picture or chart that you can look at to find information about something Look at the graph to see how many books we read in January.

14 hexagon hexagon – a shape with 6 sides A hexagon has six sides.

15 hour hour – an amount of time equal to 60 minutes We go to lunch in one hour.

16 inside inside – contained within something We were watching the game inside the house.
