Main issues/concerns (a)consumerism and reducing waste (completed), (b)restructuring the surroundings of the school (in process), (c)travel, traffic and climate changes (next year – first term), (d)Nutrition (next year – second term)

FIRST STEP (i) Survey the school surroundings (flora, waste, roads...) (ii) Investigate landscape maps of the area (iii) Take pictures (iv) Make drawings Restructuring the surroundings of the school What have we already done?

SECOND STEP (i) Propose ways that will help improve the surroundings (ii) Write a report (iii) Redraw the maps (which will be forwarded to the local community) Restructuring the surroundings of the school What have we already done?

THIRD STEP (i) Organize campaigns in order to show the neighbours that there is a way to restructure their neighbourhood (ii) Use presentations, leaflets and models (iii) Other... Restructuring the surroundings of the school What are we going to do next?

FOURTH STEP (i) Interview people that live in the neighbourhood (ii) Identify their complaints (iii) Determine how they would prefer their neighbourhood to look like Restructuring the surroundings of the school What are we going to do next?

FIFTH STEP (i) Take the findings to the local council and other people of interest (ii) Express the neighbour’s concerns and voice their opinions (iii) Make suggestions and recommendations (iv) Present the findings Restructuring the surroundings of the school What are we going to do next?

End products - What have we already done? (a)Sustainable Pursuit: Knowledge Game (b) Sustainable schools suitcase (with activities that concern the main issues/concerns that are going to be examined – the activities have all been mentioned above) – e-Twinning. (c) Fairy tale: Each country has its own topic (non- sustainable monsters in action). (d) Dictionary: This will help our students become familiar with the 8 different languages.

Deadlines!!! (a)Sustainable Pursuit: the cards will be produced each term for each issue – final version May 2010. All countries have sent the cards for the first issue. Deadline for the cards of the second issue May 2009. Competition for the board of the game (October 2009) (b) Sustainable schools suitcase: activities should be uploaded when they are ready (e-twinning cooperation) – final version May 2010. (c) Fairy tale: 15 th of March 2009. (d) Dictionary: April 2009 (Italy and Finland?)

General remarks (a)Try to keep in touch at least 2-3 times per month! It is nice to know what you are doing. (b)Try to keep the deadlines! It is important for everything to be ready on time! (c)The schools that have not met some of the deadlines, should hand in the activities by the end of May or mid- June!!! (d)Do not forget about the communication between classes and students (e-mail, ordinary mail). (e)Try to inform the hosting country on time about your participation!!! (f)Keep in mind that we are always willing to solve any problems or answer any questions you may have!
