+ Find your “A” Partner… Activity 1: Scenarios…..Read the following scenarios with your partner. Come up with some healthy solutions to each situation. Be prepared to share….
14
+ #1 You are invited to a party at a friend’s house. A close friend of yours offers to give you a ride. When you get to the friend’s house, it turns out that it’s a keg party. The close friend who gave you a ride drinks, but also eats throughout the evening. About five hours later, when it’s time to go home, your ride seems sober even though he had several glasses of beer, earlier on. You know that there’s a risk to being a passenger with driver who’s had even just one drink, so you don’t want ride home with your friend. What will you do? Variable #1: In addition to the above, although there are other people at the party, most live in the neighborhood, and walked over. Only you and the friend who gave you a ride have driven. Both you and your ride live in the same neighborhood, but from the other side of town – too far to walk. What will you do? Variable #2: Also, public transit stopped an hour earlier. What will you do? Variable #3: Further, you haven’t enough money for a cab. What will you do? LG

+ With your “B” Partner… Scenario #2: You and your date go out to eat, and plan to go to a movie. Although you both had a big meal, you both drink. Your date drove. Dinner is done, and it’s time to drive to your movie. What will you do? Variable #1: The movie theatre is just across the parking lot from the restaurant, so you can walk over. The movie lasts an hour and a half. It’s been two hours since your date’s last drink, when it’s time to go. What will you do? Variable #2: Even though it’s been two hours since your date’s last drink, your date still seems a bit intoxicated. What will you do? Variable #3: You aren’t insured on your date’s car. What will you do?

+ Find your “C” Partner Activity: Pay attention to the following PSA’s. After watching the Public Service Announcements, have a discussion with your partner based on the following questions. 1. Do you think that Public Service Announcements like the two you just watched are effective in curbing motorists from driving under the influence? 2. Are there any suggestions you would give to the creators of these PSA’s to make them more effective? 3. Did you think that either of these PSA’s would deter you from driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs? Why or why not?
17
+ With your “D” Partner Now’s your chance to get the message out about the dangers of Drinking and Driving. On your IPAD, using Keynote or Pages, design a Bumper Sticker that gets your message out. It can be as simple as a slogan with a unique design, or a combination of words with pictures depicting what you’re trying to get across.
