2 Lasswade High School - £3,165 Lasswade Community Bike Project Improve individuals health as well as road safety through cycling to school, reducing number of cars on road. Held a launch event Trained teachers in cycle maintenance and as Cycle Ride Leaders Developed a cycling club Pupils were trained in cycle maintenance which allowed them to assist with bike checks at nearby primary schools doing Bikeability Issue: a lot of staff needed to run project

3 Auchinleck Academy - £3,900 Auchinleck Academy Cycling To reduce the use of minibus for short local journeys Bought 18 bikes and helmets Held Launch Event Teachers were trained in bike maintenance and were able to then teach pupils. This allowed pupils to achieve aspects of their Duke of Edinburgh Award by maintaining school bikes. Pupils cycle to local sports facility rather than being bussed. Issue: More people cycling to school = more bike parking required

4 Lochgelly High School - £5,000 Bikes for Lochgelly High School To improve pupils cycling skills and confidence Bought bikes (barrier) Started a bike library (open to whole community) Teachers trained to deliver Bikeability Used local cycle paths and mtb tracks Pupils with Sports Leadership qualification helped with delivery of the project Cycling is now part of PE, encouraged to use own bikes Issue: weather delaying training
