Introducing new vocabulary ; Competition ; a situation in which people or organizations compete with each other. Old-fashioned; not modern and not fashionable any more. Routine ; the usual way in which you do things. Midday ;twelve o,clock in the middle of the day. Publisher ; a person or company that produces books magazines, etc. and makes them available for people to buy.

Asking students to work in pairs to respond to these situations Someone asks you what you think the best thing is about short stories A friend asks you what you used to read when you were ten years old. Someone asks for your opinion about modern novels.

Students are asked to work in groups ; They should write notes for two paragraphs. They write about the role that jobs can play in helping someone to become a writer.

Which jobs do you think would help the writer to be better ? Interesting jobs where the person does a lot of things or meets a lot of people. For example a tour guide or a lawyer.

What do you understand by the power of education ? Education can give everyone the opportunity to be successful.

In what way does reading literature improve your education ? By introducing new and rich language. By providing a model for usage By describing new and exciting experience that may reinforce your own.
