Prevent myself from becoming a victim of fraud If I become a victim of fraud, I will know what to do!

Don’t share your info with ANYONE. This includes your pin #, passwords, social security number, etc… Don’t keep this info in your wallet or purse, or anywhere else that it could be easily found… If you must write it down, lock it in a safe somewhere! Vary your passwords. It’s a pain, but if you use only one password for everything, you are in BIG trouble if someone gets it!

Call financial institutions/card companies ASAP Analyze past statements to see when fraud started If necessary, contact the authorities. More often than not, identities are stolen by someone you know

Limits liability for unauthorized credit card charges to $50.00 per card Must write a letter within 60 days of the first bill containing the error If a credit card number is used fraudulently but the card itself was not used, the individual has no personal liability
