The Standard Response Protocol (SRP) is a classroom response to emergency events that may occur at school. Each classroom has a poster informing you what to do in the event of an emergency. Locate the poster in each classroom Follow directions from teachers in an emergency situation

Action: Lockout Example: Vicious dog Students Return to inside of building Business as usual Teachers Bring students inside building Increase situational awareness Take roll and account for students

Action: Lockdown Example: Intruder Students Move away from sight Maintain silence Teachers Lock classroom door Turn out lights Take roll and account for students Wait for responder to open door

Action: Evacuate Example: Fire Students Follow teacher directions exactly Exit building in a safe and orderly manner When safely outside, report to assigned area Teachers Take Classroom Emergency Pack if possible Lead students to evacuation area Take roll and account for students

Action: Shelter Example: Earthquake Students Follow teacher instructions exactly Stay calm Teachers Initiate the appropriate Shelter Method Earthquake: Drop, Cover and Hold. When safe evacuate Hazmat: Move immediately to safe area. Seal area Severe Weather: Stay in building. Relocate as necessary to safe area Take roll and account for students
