1 We started with a question:

2 We started with a ‘as we head towards the year 2020, what questions should we be asking as we plan how to best work with talented young EU musicians?’

3 What skills do orchestral musicians need for 21 st century audiences & society? How should we train the next generation of musical leaders? How do we attract new audiences? How do we deepen the experience of current audiences? What about employment and jobs in Europe? How do we relate our European experience to a cultural context that is increasingly Global? What would a model that was transferable to other sectors look like? How do we persuade “non- audiences”? ( non audiences = audiences who actively avoid classical music)
