1 ROTARY GLOBAL/DUNN SCHOLARSHIP IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE AND PROCEDURE FOR D7890 1.Using the flyer E. & W. Hartford clubs advertise/spread the word in their communities that there is a $30,000 + scholarship available for permanent residents of their community. This can be done by posting at educational institutions, libraries, community centers, town halls, word of mouth, etc. 2.The flyer has a link to our district web site address, which has a link to the global/Dunn scholarship details. These details include the eligibility criteria and the application form. 3.If applicants qualify they must submit the application form along with, resume, essay, 2 letters of recommendation, official transcripts & a letter of admission to the Intl. Institution. This submission must be made to the District Scholarship Committee (DSC) electronically or through snail mail. 4.The deadline for application submission including attachments is May 8, 2016. 5.The DSC will wait till May 15, to insure that all applications have been received. 6.Once received the DSC will review the applications to insure that all eligibility criteria has been met. If met data will be forwarded electronically to the E. or W. Hartford club presidents depending on which community the applicant resides in. This will be done no later than (NLT) May 22, 2016. If eligibility criteria is not met DSC will contact the candidate to resolve issues NLT May 22, 2016. 7.Both club presidents to ensure that their scholarship committees review the applicant data, interview the applicants in the presence of DSC members and select one finalist & one runner up from each club. This is to be done NLT June 5, 2016. 8.Finalist data to be submitted to the DSC electronically and through discussions. NLT June 5, 2016 9.DSC to make the final decision and choose one candidate. NLT June 12, 2016 10.The scholarship committee of the area in which the final candidate resides will be responsible for entering the candidate data into the global grant application form on rotary’s web site under my rotary NLT June 26, 2016. 11.Any future matters regarding the scholarship will continue to be handled by the area club scholarship committee in which the candidate resides. This includes establishing contact with the international district and club so that a Rotary host counselor can be assigned for the candidate.
