EXAMPLE #1 MAJOR PREMISE: All men are mortal. MINOR PREMISE: Brad Pitt is a man. CONCLUSION: Brad Pitt is a mortal.

EXAMPLE #2 MAJOR PREMISE: No reptiles have fur. MINOR PREMISE: All snakes are reptiles. CONCLUSION: No snakes have fur.

EXAMPLE #3 MAJOR PREMISE: All horses have hooves. MINOR PREMISE: No humans have hooves. CONCLUSION: No humans are horses.

EXAMPLE #4 MAJOR PREMISE: Some say it is okay to drive very fast. MINOR PREMISE: Excessive speed often leads to accidents. CONCLUSION: No, it is not okay to speed.
