2 What is a Forensic Psychologist?
A Forensic Psychologist is an expert in assessing the mental state of criminals. This includes determining the mental competency to stand trial or take criminal responsibility. They also provide individuals with therapeutic treatment.

3 What do they do? Forensic Psychologists handle many different types of jobs, many of which involve circumstances normal psychologists handle. These jobs include: Custody disputes Insurance claims Lawsuits Family courts Psychotherapy services Child abuse Hospital work Rehabilitation centers

4 Employment Qualifications
Masters/Doctorate in Psychology Clinical Counseling Social Work Minor in Criminal Justice Forensic Psychology Certified by the American Board of Forensic Psychology On-hand training courses Internships

5 Employment Qualifications
To become a successful forensic psychologist, you need to: Know how to work with others Solve challenging problems Have Patience, Creativity, and Commitment Have knowledge of social and cultural issues Have legal knowledge Have excellent writing and speaking skills Be able to think quickly

6 Forensic Psychologist 11
There are types of forensic psychologists; 11 and 12. Forensic Psychologist 11 Entry Level Position Conducts clinical interviews Gathers and reviews medical data Administers and interprets psychological tests

7 Forensic Psychologist 12
This is the advanced level of forensic psychologists. They give expert witness testimonies and consultation to court officials relative to an individuals to stand trial.

11 Information Forensic psychologists are more likely to be employed by the F.B.I and the F.B.P. Will expect a dramatic growth in coming years. Female serial killers account for only 8% of all American serial killers, but American females account for 76% of all female serial killers worldwide
