Primary Category STC Novel concept to allow modifications standard- category aircraft STC moves the aircraft to primary category Primary allows for FAA-accepted “Airworthiness Design Standard” EAA’s proposal allows for any and all modifications, excluding those to engine, prop, “airframe primary structure.” Will incorporate careful safety analysis Initial AML application will be for most common primary-eligible types, type clubs could submit own applications thereafter.
