Our poll question  The poll question we chose was “Do you agree or disagree with the legalization of gay marriage?”  According to Pew Research Center, 57% of Americans support it and 39% of Americans do not support it.  We used the following methods to do our own poll:  Random Sampling  Systematic Sampling  Convenience Sampling  Stratified Sampling

3. Point estimations Our point estimations are as follows: Simple Random: 0.5333 Systematic: 0.6333 Convenience: 0.4 Stratified: Women: 0.7222 Men: 0.6667

4. 95% confidence interval Systematic: We have a 95% confidence level that the number of Utahns who support gay marriage is between 46.0% and 80.5%. Convenience: We have a 95% confidence level that the number of Utahns who support gay marriage is between 22.4% and 57.5%. Stratified: We have a 95% confidence level that the number of Utahns who support gay marriage is between 54% and 85.4%. Simple Random: We have a 95% confidence level that the number of Utahns who support gay marriage is between 49.8% and 83.5%.

5. Our results All of our results had 57% of people who agreed with legalizing gay marriage in them. However, some of our ranges are quite large. I think this may be due to our relatively small sample sizes. Our convenience sample had the lowest percentage of people who agreed with gay marriage, our stratified had the highest number. However, both did include the average.

6. Energy Drink Sugar Content The sugar content in 22 Rockstar energy drinks and 22 Monster energy drinks were measured and compared The point estimates are as follows: –Rockstar: 16.273 grams of sugar –Monster: 19.409 grams of sugar

7. 90% Confidence Interval Rockstar: We have a 90% confidence level that the grams of sugar in a given drink are between 12.5 and 20.05 Monster: We have a 90% confidence level that the grams of sugar in a given drink are between 15.32 and 23.5 The difference is statistically significant – Monsters, on average, contain approximately 16% more sugar than Rockstars

8. Results Monsters average a higher content of sugar than Rockstars do, even though they both had a comparable amount of “low” or “no sugar” products
