Lab 11. Overview Instructor checks pre-labs. in lab notebook and COLLECTS peer reviews. Animal Diversity and Anatomy Overview. Examine prepared slides, models, live animals, and preserved specimens Rat and crayfish (or crab) dissections. Instructor overview of animal diversity. Complete in-class exercise as quiz over diversity. Students obtain group assignments in preparation for next week’s lab.

Reminders for the Lab READ the instructions ( ) in the manual Really focus on recognizing the organisms. You will be quizzed at the end of the lab for the in-class assignment. Scalpels are very sharp, be careful. Scalpels are the bazookas of dissecting tools. Scalpels are used only for occasional cuts. Scissors and sharp probes should be the primary tools used. (exception = scalpels used for skinning) Don’t leave lab without a group assignment for next week.
