4 Paper Set-up  Type your paper on a computer and print it out on standard, white 8.5 x 11” paper.  Double-space the entire text of your paper, and use a legible 12 point font in black ink only. (Use ONLY Times New Roman).  Leave only one space after periods or other punctuation marks.  Set the margins of your document to 1 inch on all sides. Do not left/right justify.

5 Paper Set-up  Beginning with page 1, create a header that numbers all pages consecutively in the upper right-hand corner, one-half inch from the top and flush with the right margin.  The header should contain your last name and the page number. Do not use pg. or page, or p. (Example: Patel 2)  Italicize titles of works (books, films, etc.).

6 The First Page  Do not make a title page for your paper unless specifically requested.  In the upper left-hand corner of the first page, use the following heading (doublespaced): Your name (Sara Jones) Your instructor's name (Ms. Patel) The course (English 9 Honors A1) The date in European format (6 September 2013)  Double space again and center the title. Do not underline, italicize, use all capitalized letters, or place your title in quotation marks. Double space between the title and first line of your text.
