She was as crazy as monkey. Miss Milatich came over and asked me if I made the mess. I said, “No of course not,” but she didn’t believe me…again Then I identified Bella splashing the paint on the ground. I got in trouble during that class as well. Bella was making noise, that mischievous little rock. I will never ever take that little rock to school. The wind danced as Bella and I walked home that afternoon. When we arrived at home we heard a noise coming from the kitchen. Crash. Bang. Boom. It was just my mom banging on the counter. I decided it was time to tell my mom and dad about Bella. I introduced Bella and they said that she was the cutest little rock they had ever seen. She became part of our family and we were both as happy as a clown. Bella and I have become best of friends and we do outlandish adventures together. I dedicate this page to my dad and my mom because they are so nice to me just like Bella. They take care of me and they help me make the right choices. 9

On a blazing hot summer day the sun was starring right at me while I was lounging on my hammock drinking my lemonade. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and I was gazing into the sunlight. Suddenly, I heard a teeny tiny voice coming from under the hammock I cheeked but I couldn’t see anything. I sat back and felt feeble. I implored Miss Milatich if I could paint my gracious picture of a princess locked up in the tippy top of a castle. While I was painting, Bella lept out of my desk and was jumping and splashing the yellow paint around the classroom. 81

Then I heard the same exact voice once again and it was coming from under the hammock. I looked under the hammock one last time, and a rock with beady eyes stared right back at ME! I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was a talking rock. I didn’t even think there could be such a thing. This was one ludicrous moment. “Hello,” I said in a very scared voice. The rock exclaimed,” I know what you are thinking. Rocks can not talk, but they can.” The rock said her name was Bella and I introduced myself. I had a feeling that this was the start of a new friendship. Unfortunately she didn’t believe me and I got in trouble that morning. Next it was Art class and this time paint was going to get real real messy. Our art teacher Miss Milatich said we were doing painting. 2 7

Bella and I wanted to become friends and try to spend some time together. The next day the alarm clock screamed and woke me up for another day at school. Ring. Ring. Ring. I yawned almost forgetting about Bella. Who was asleep in a comfortable bed right next to me I mentioned to Bella that it was going to get as noisy as a lion when all the kids came inside. During the morning Bella got way too hot in my desk and she started bumping around. She was rattling everything around out of its place. The teacher asked if I was making any noise and I said no. 6 3

I woke Bella right up and mentioned that I had to go to school. Bella exclaimed, “Take me to school with you!”. Of course I said yes because I could never say no to her adorable face. When Bella and I arrived at school I carefully placed her in my desk to prevent her from making noise.. I mentioned to Bella that it was going to get as noisy as a lion when all the kids came inside. 45
