Purpose of the RFP The purpose of this RFP is to select one or more vendors that can satisfy the State’s need to comply with the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Narrow Band Mandate due December 31, 2012 with respect to a Statewide VHF remote base System operated by IDHS on 155.025 MHz, simplex

Scope of RFP IDHS operates a statewide VHF backup system comprised of eleven stations operating simplex on 155.0250 MHz in remote base operation under 2 FCC call signs These are linked via the IPSC microwave system to the console located in the Indiana Government Center South, Room W-046

Scope of RFP The IDHS seeks to have the transceivers and associated equipment replaced, modified, converted, or adapted to make a seamless transition from the present wideband operation to narrowband This will require that the equipment be able to operate in either mode for some period of time prior to December 31, 2012 – Target being June 30, 2012 All equipment must be rendered incapable of wideband operation prior to January 1, 2013

Scope of RFP The IDHS seeks to have a voter system installed on the system The IDHS further seeks a capability to communicate with other state and local agencies in the Public Safety VHF Band on multiple “interoperability channels” Baseline is $200,000 to be FCC compliant Responses should demonstrate capabilities outlined in the Scope of Work Section 1.4 Contract Term is 2 years from the date of contract execution
