QUAKER MEETINGHOUSE GUIDELINES 1.Everyone must enter the room in silence. 2.Everyone is encouraged to speak freely and openly. 3.You must stand when speaking. 4.There is no set leader, nor agenda: God’s spirit leads people to speak. 5.There should be a brief waiting of complete silence between each speaker. 6.Your words should be kept brief. 7.The goal is unity. There is no arguing. However, if you do object, you may “stand aside.” 8.You may object, but your dissent must be extremely polite. 9.At the conclusion of the meeting, everyone must shake hands to exchange a sign of peace.
