Patrick Demarchelier He was born in August 21, 1943 in Le Havre, France He got his inspiration to be a photographer when his stepfather bought him a camera for his 17 th birthday and started photographing friends and weddings His style of photography is fashion

Career Patrick Demarchelier started working at a photography store but never attended college He began his work in Paris before moving to New York in 1975 where he started to work for magazines like GQ and Rolling Stone Patrick has shoot many international campaigns for Celine, Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, TAG Heuer, Lacoste, Ralph Lauren, and Calvin Klein He also wrote a book Patrick Demarchelier Fashion Photography that was published in 1989 Patrick has also worked on movie and television programs as well as TV commercials for L’Oreal and the series for Calvin Klein underwear Demarchelier has photographed numerous high-profile celebrities including Elizabeth Hurley, Madonna, and Princess Diana he also is the first non- British photographer to be invited to photograph a member of the Royal Family

Patrick Demarcheliers work Patrick Demarcheliers work usually appear in Vogue, Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar, Rolling Stone, Newsweek, and Elle and multiple other magazines His ads and celebrity images are recognizable for their casual, realistic, and playful qualities, hallmarks of a style he developed in the 1960’s he is a master when it comes to light subtleties, he enhances a subjects beauty and naturalness, using it in his portrait photography

The Wild And The Beauty The lighting seems to be inside and its coming from the top of the lion I think the lighting in this photograph is good. The main subject is the lion but most of all its eyes because they just stand out. I think what makes this photo so striking is its lighting and rule of thirds because the lighting makes the lion have a dramatic effect and the rule of thirds make you focus on where the main subject is at. I think the photographer was trying to show the beauty of this animal and tell you everything about this animal that you could ever know. I don’t think there's a story behind this photo. I selected this photo because I like the way the lion looked how he's focused on something else but yet he looks so relaxed and it made me notice how this animal is so amazing.

the lighting in this photo is inside and it seems to be coming form the left side of the model. The main subject in this photo I think is her hair because that’s the first thing I looked at and its bigger than her face which makes it stand out more. I think what makes this photo so striking is the lighting because mostly part of her face is dark and it has some light parts which makes her face stand out yet it not detracting from the rest of the photo. I think the photographer was trying to show her beauty as well as fashion because of her hair style. I do think there’s a story behind this photo by her face expression. I choose this photo because I like the way her hair made her stand out and the way her face expression made the photo look so dramatic.

The lighting is natural and its good because it makes the person stand out. The main subject is the person standing because she's the subject that stands out the most out of the whole picture. What makes this photo striking is rule of thirds because the main subject fits the rule of thirds and also the lighting making the background darker than the main subject. I think that the photographer was trying to show fashion in a way that expresses nature and its surroundings. I no I don’t think there's a story behind this picture. I selected this picture because I liked how the photo was taken in the forest and how the model is standing.

The lighting of the picture is artificial and its coming from the back. I do like the lighting since the picture is black and white it makes it easier to see the main subject. The main subject is the bride laying on top of the table because I noticed she's the the only one looking at the camera and has the biggest dress on which makes her stand out from the rest of the girls. What makes this photo striking is the grouping of the men and women and the multiple furniture around the room. i think the photographer was trying to show a wedding picture in a different way that shows them having fun and also expressing how they feel. I don’t think there’s a story behind this picture. I choose this photo because I like the way the picture was taking how none of the people in it are posing there just relaxed and being themselves.

The lighting in these pictures are artificial and it coming from the sides. The main subject in this photo is the models because the the color of their clothes makes them stand out. I think what makes this photo striking is the lighting because in the third picture the lighting is coming from her face making the back of her darker and grouping in the second picture with the models posing. The photographer was trying to show fashion and also show a Christian Dior cover photo. I selected this photo because I like how the photographer added the tree pictures into a cover photo and how he used the color of the clothes to make it stand out.
