2 EO Summit Documents http://earthobservation.org EO Summit 2: “We acknowledge with appreciation the work of the ad hoc Group on Earth Observations thus far to begin to develop a 10-Year Implementation Plan, based on user requirements and building on existing systems, for a comprehensive, coordinated, and sustained Earth observation system of systems. We adopt with satisfaction the Framework Document, describing principal benefits of Earth observations to a broad range of user communities and the fundamental elements to be included in the 10-Year Implementation Plan for what will henceforth be called a Global Earth Observation System of Systems(GEOSS);

14 Atmospheric state variables Temperature Moisture Wind Wind Profiles over the ocean should be an obvious gap in our current Earth Observations, noted by disaster, climate & weather user groups at the very least ESA will I am guessing be on the lookout for this gap to mentioned with the ADM mission coming up NOAA/NASA/others need to be paying attention too! People forget to ask for what they don’t think they can have!!!! Global wind profiles- the final frontier to describe the atmosphere!
