8 Post-Reading Analysis Prompt Orpheus was the son of Apollo and Calliope. He married Eurydice who soon died. He followed her into Hades and begged Pluto to have her back. He said Orpheus could have her back if he left Hades trusting that she was right behind him. If he turned around to check that she was, Eurydice would spend eternity in Hades, and Orpheus couldn’t have her back. Of course, Orpheus turned around to check on Eurydice so she died again, and he lived unhappily ever after. Comparative Literature- What are the similarities between “Orphan Boy and the Elk Dog” and “Orpheus & Eurydice,” the Greek legend? Write your analysis in at least ten sentences and include text-based details. (+10)
