2  Constitution written in 1787 and ratified in 1788  Constitution has governing laws  Sometimes laws need to be changed  Amendment is a minor change in a document Twenty-seven amendments to the Constitution  Lucky our Founding Fathers allowed there to be changes to the Constitution
