2 Cricket National Curriculum Attainment Level I can perform some of the basic skills. I can play either a forward or defensive shot. I can bowl the ball, but unable to bowl a reasonable line or length. I have some idea of the fielding positions and can play one of them. I know what the components of fitness are. I can identify some of the strengths and weaknesses in my performance. I know that exercise is important for a healthy lifestyle. I can follow a warm up and cool down safely using suitable activities.

3 Cricket National Curriculum Attainment Level I have some knowledge of basic team tactics. I am reasonably competent in one element of cricket. I am able to bowl the ball at a reasonable length and line. I am successful while attempting to catch the ball. I can contribute to the game although it may be rather minimal. I know the components of fitness and how they help me in cricket. I can use some of the correct technique terms to improve performance. I understand that exercise is important for a healthy lifestyle. I can follow a warm up and cool down safely using suitable activities by myself.

4 Cricket National Curriculum Attainment Level I have a good standard of ability while performing most of the basic skills. I can demonstrate the ability to play a straight bat, moving down the line to a variety of deliveries. I can demonstrate the correct techniques in catching, stopping and returning the ball. I have some understanding of team tactics and field placing. I know how to train the different components of fitness relating to cricket to improve my performance. I can concentrate during cricket. I can identify strengths and weaknesses of mine and others performances, giving feedback to improve on this. I can lead a warm up and cool down session. I can explain why exercise is important to my health and fitness.

5 Cricket National Curriculum Attainment Level I am able to demonstrate a full command of the defensive strokes as well as the ability to attack the ball when required. When bowling, I can demonstrate good technique as well as the ability to deceive a batsman by change of pace. I am able to display reliability while fielding the ball, coupled with good directional sense when throwing the ball towards the wicket. I know the role of and can play in more than one position, specialising either as a batsman, fielder or bowler. I know how to train each component of fitness and how each of these relate specifically to different aspects of cricket. I know why it is important to concentrate in cricket. I can give more detailed feedback to improve performance and analyse. I am able to lead a safe warm up and cool down, stretching the correct areas of the body for cricket. I understand how cricket can benefit a person’s health and fitness.

6 Cricket National Curriculum Attainment Level I have a very high level of individual skill in at least two of the three aspects – batting, bowling and fielding. I can show a high level of batting proficiency using the full range of offensive and defensive strokes. I am able to show accuracy in length and line of the ball bowled. I can make an outstanding contribution to the game. I know how to train the different parts of my body to increase different components of fitness relevant to cricket. I understand why concentration is vital in cricket. I can concentrate for a whole cricket game. I have very good knowledge of team tactics and field placing positions. I know which of the major muscles to stretch for cricket I understand why we warm up and cool down. I can describe how cricket benefits health and fitness and can share this information with a small group.
