+ Why Use An iBooks Author for Library Tutorials? It’s a free, desktop publishing tool and word processor, similar to Apple’s Pages and Microsoft Word. Reaches the large audience of iPad, iPhone and Mac Users Use of multimedia elements (video, images and interactive media) to better engage with our students. Content can include interactive photos with pop-ups, short quizzes and glossary terms. iBooks Reader includes very useful highlighting and annotation tools for reviewing content.

+ Lessons Learned iBooks can easily handle various forms of media (i.e. Keynote, YouTube). This helps to focus on the content of the product, rather than worrying about the mode of delivery. iBooks are largely intuitive, and don't need lengthy explanations before users can enjoy the products. iBook Author does not allow for easy collaboration between editors. This makes coordination from the onset key to avoid labor intensive rewrites/corrections. Final products are often more stylish and enjoyable than competing platforms Learned more about the resources that the school provides to us as medical students. Learned quite a bit about how to use the iBooks Author program.
