DEVELOPING EXCELLENCE TOGETHER Drilling down deeper Provision mapping takes into account the full scope of provision, including high quality, whole class teaching, guided and group work and individual interventions in order to identify and overcome potential barriers to learning and meet the needs of all pupils within and beyond the school setting. (DfE definition) ---------------- Provision Management is a strategic integrated system of multi-layered maps that interfaces with the school improvement cycle to provide governors/trustees, senior leaders, staff and families with relevant data about: – What the school offers and how effective it is – Where there are gaps in provision – Analysis of cost and impact for individuals, as well as groups of learners ---------------- The Local Offer is a directory for families to clarify what support is available and from whom

DEVELOPING EXCELLENCE TOGETHER Wave 1 (Core Offer) Definition ‘A consistent, inclusive approach to teaching which incorporates the culture of King Alfred’s. It is underpinned by 5 focus areas which were created by students, staff and parents who believe are the most important to the School.’

Chloe will focus on Differentiation and Assessment throughout the year

Wave 1 Lessons Learnt What worked well 1) Differentiation and Assessment have been the focus for term 1 & 2. It has focused all staff’s training. Consistent approach. 2) This has been taken directly from the Core Offer. 3) It is making an impact to T&L 4) The intervention sheets aid planning 5) Buy in and contribution from Headteacher, LT, Teaching Staff and Support Staff Future development 1) Staff training required to use intervention sheets via HoFs 2) Sharing feedback to staff based upon learning walks and lesson observations regarding the implementation of the Core Offer. 3) Continue to use the language 4) More regular monitoring required

DEVELOPING EXCELLENCE TOGETHER Wave 2 Lessons Learnt What is going well 1) Good use of assessment data to inform Departments which students are underperforming 2) Sharing effective intervention across Departments 3) Individual Intervention to focus the need 4) Referral forms to SEN Department are completed at this stage of there are concerns regarding individual students Future Developments 1) Measure the impact of the interventions 2) Is staff data input accurate? Have we highlighted the correct students into Wave 2? How do we know?

DEVELOPING EXCELLENCE TOGETHER Wave 3 Students What is going well 1) Appropriate provision was put in place with additional support 2) Appropriate infrastructure and staffing to support students 3) SEN, External Agencies, WEX to support the student be successful 4) Improvement in Behaviour for Learning, Attendance and attainment 5) Student confidence and well being has improved Future Development 1) Cost implication 2) To move students from wave 2 back to wave 1
