1. Amy Winehouse (1983-2011)

2. -This is a British singer known for her provoking looks with her short haircut and tattoos. -With her crazy look, she was the diva of great success, with her mix of blues, jazz, and soul.

3. Her Youth : -Amy was born in the Enfield district in London (Southgate), into a Jewish family, and she has an older brother. Her father is Mitchell and her mother is Janis.

4. -At the age of 8, she took music lessons, as she was influenced by the songs of her father. She had also some problems of concentration at school. At the age of 10, she founded a group ‘Sweet and Sour’ with her best friend’. -Amy found a record company thanks to her boyfriend. Both of her first albums were a great success, but despite her happiness, she suffered from alcoholism, depression and drugs.

5. 2 Million Copies 11 million Copies -In 2003, she published her first album: ‘Franck’ and it was a great success because it sold over 2 Million copies. This album included a lot of jazz. -In 2006, she released her second album: ‘Back to black’ and it sold over 11 Million copies. Several songs were ranked number 1.(She played at many festivals (Eurokéennes of Belfort).

6. - In 2008, she was sent to the detoxification center for alcohol and drug abuse. In spite of the reduction of alcohol, her health remained fragile. She canceled several concerts.

7. -Amy’s love life was not very good because, in 2007, she married a man who was violent with her. She requested a divorce two years later.

8. Amy had problems with the law: - copyright violations, - violation & obstruction of the law, - drugs.

9. July 2011 at the house of Amy Winehouse. -In July 2011, the star died in her apartment located in Camden Town from an overdose (more than 4g/L alcohol of blood) after a long period of abstinence. -She had a real problem with ‘Binge drinking’.

10. -She is part of the club of 27 with Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix and Brian Jones.
