Team Aim To investigate the conditions at which the rate of photosynthesis of Cabomba Aquatica is the fastest. Three different conditions - Amount of Sodium Bicarbonate - Different pH of water - Temperature of water

Apparatus Aquatic plant (Cabomba Aquatica) Lamp 600ml Beaker Funnel Test tube Sodium Bicarbonate Stop watch Lamp Data logger (ESS only) pH sensor (ESS only) pH water (ESS only) Water bath (Physics only) Thermometer (Physics only)

Method 1. Fill up the 600ml beaker with the tap water 2. Put Sodium Bicarbonate into the beaker and stir using the spatula. 3. Put Cabomba Aquatica into the funnel and place it in the beaker, with test tube covering the tip of the funnel. 4. Start counting the bubbles that are produced from the plant for 3 minutes. 5. Record the number of bubbles onto the table. 6. Repeat the process for 4 more times. 7. Repeat the step 1-7 for 3 other measurements.

Biology Conclusion: - Number of bubbles increase as the amount of sodium bicarbonate increase.

ESS Conclusion: - Result did not show any trend - Expected result: o Cabomba Aquatica photosynthesize well in slightly acidic water (pH of 5 or 6)

Physics Conclusion: - Low temperature little energy rate of photosynthesis is slower - High temperature More energy Rate of photosynthesis is faster - Temperature at 26 degrees Celsius produced most bubbles.

Team Conclusion High amount of Sodium Bicarbonate + pH of 5 or 6 + Water temperature at 26 degrees Celsius = Rate of Photosynthesis
