The Mountains in Taiwan Talking of the geography of Taiwan, the mountain of Taiwan should be told. Jade Mountain( 玉山 ) is the highest mountain in Taiwan. It soars 3952 meters which is approximately 12965 feet. There are also many high mountains in Taiwan. Because the mountains of Taiwan are high, it contains a lot of different climates. Jade Mountain

But why are there so many high mountains in Taiwan? Taiwan is the boundary between Eurasian and Philippines. Their pressurization created those high mountains in Taiwan. And there are also many campaigns, basins, terraces, and hills in this island. The Landforms in Taiwan

Terrible Earthquakes Taiwan is the boundary between Eurasian and Philippines, so a lot of earthquakes attack Taiwan every year. For instance, a terrible earthquake attacked Taiwan on September twenty- first, 1999. The earthquake made many houses in Nantou( 南投 ) collapsed, and killed thousands of people.

The rivers are also an element of Taiwan. The rivers of Taiwan are short and stream pretty fast. Because the mountains of Taiwan are from the north part of Taiwan to the south part of Taiwan, the rivers which originate from the mountains run either east or west. The rivers stream fast because the ways they run are steep. The Rivers in Taiwan

The climate of Taiwan is also special. Tropic of Cancer crosses through Taiwan. So Taiwan is in both of tropics and subtropics, which makes the climate of Taiwan is usually warm and wet. The Climate of Taiwan

In the spring, the weather is getting warmer. Generally, a lot of flowers bloom here at that time. In the summer, there are always many typhoons which bring Taiwan a lot of rain. Moreover, there is a lot of afternoon thundershower, too. The Seasons of Taiwan

In the autumn, it’s cool. Red leaves including maple leaves falls a lot, which makes the mountains change red and romantic. In the winter, although it is cold, there is no snow in the cities. It just snows on high mountains. So I haven’t seen any real snow. The Seasons of Taiwan
