London was founded more than two thousand years ago. Traditionally it is divided into several parts: the City, the West End and the East End. London is situated on the river Thames.

London is one of the most famous capital cities of the world and every year it attracts crowds of visitors from home and abroad. They come to explore its historical buildings, to see its museums and galleries, its streets and parks and its people.

St. Paul’s Cathedral was built in the 17 th century by Christopher Wren

The Tower of London was built in the 11 th century. It was used as a fortress, a palace and a prison. Now it’s a museum. The city is very old and beautiful. The West End is the part where rich people live. It is the most beautiful part of London.

There one can see a famous Clock Tower Big Ben, the symbol of London. Big Ben is really the bell, which strikes every quarter of an hour.

There are many other places of interest in London: Trafalgar Square, Regent’s Park, Westminster Abbey and, of course, the British Museum. Another place, which can strike you most, is Buckingham Palace. One of them is the Houses of Parliament, the seat of the British Government.

I can’t describe all the places of interest. The best way to know London is to visit it.
