Ministry Eye Facts! About half of our brain is involved in the seeing process and some scientists consider the eyes a part of the brain because of their interconnection. The cornea is the only living tissue in the human body that does not contain any blood vessels.

Ministry Eye Facts! All babies are colour blind when they are born and their eyes do not produce tears until the baby is approximately six to eight weeks old. Your eyes are the same size from birth but your ears and nose never stop growing! The average person blinks 12 times per minute about 10,000 blinks in an average day and 10 million times a year!

Ministry Eye Facts! Your eyes begin to develop 2 weeks after conception Are composed of more than two million working parts and process 36,000 bits of information an hour. Under the right conditions, can discern the light of a candle at a distance of 14 miles. Contribute towards 85% of your total knowledge.

Ministry Jesus Saw People’s Needs 2 Corinthians 4:18 on page 1798 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Ministry Matthew 9:35-38 on page 1510 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Ministry Matthew 25:34-40 on page 1542 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

Ministry Talking It Over When we see the needs of others, and meet them, we are serving God. What are some nice things we can do for each other and our neighbours? Having the eyes of Jesus helps us do these things.

Ministry Keep an Eye Out… This week look for opportunities to be kind to others. Ministry begins with perception but it comes from the heart. We will talk about that next week.
