Manga....The traditional Japanese art. Manga is pronounced (Maw – Nnnnn – Gah) In Japanese, it is actually three syllables, as we have a habit of pronouncing it "Man- Gah", but it's not the correct way of saying it. Manga are Japanese comic books. Manga is often made into Japanese cartoons, or Anime. The art in Manga has a very definite look to it and is often referred to as “Manga Style.”...The traditional Japanese art.

Manga....The traditional Japanese art. Today the main exports of Manga art is used in either children's television or Manga films for a more selective audience, but in Japan Manga is still used in the form of paper cartoons, and for purposes other than entertainment. The development of Manga cartoon films began in Europe and then later, in the United States, but despite this it was more of a hit in Japan, where after over forty percent of the country's film output was in the form of Manga films. In Europe and United States, cartoons are just for the young age group, but in Japan, Manga is enjoyed by other age groups including adults and teenagers.

Manga....The traditional Japanese art. Manga has become so popular in Europe that the famous young boys TV programmes and collectables ‘Pokemon’ has originated from Manga and is extremely popular.

Manga....The traditional Japanese art. Mange has become a huge part of Japanese culture. Unlike in America, Manga is read by most people in the country. The artists and writer of Manga are well respected for their work much like writers are praised for their good work in our country. Manga is supposed to be read from the right side to the left, opposite of the books that we read. Not only do you read the pages from right to left, but you also read the columns from right to left. There have been attempts to make Manga published in the books we read to look and read like traditional Japanese books, but many artists have opposed this. The fans of Manga have also been a part of making sure that many Manga produced today is in the traditional Japanese style.

Manga....The traditional Japanese art. Manga has become widely known for its style. People who know about Manga will be able to recognize artwork from Manga comics quickly. The interesting thing is how Manga has began to influence artists. Many artists are using Manga artwork like Ed McGuinness, and Frank Miller. Americans are even making Manga, like Fred Gallagher of Megatokyo.

Manga....The traditional Japanese art. There are many characteristics that make Manga very distinctive. The largest thing that Manga art is known for is its characters. Manga characters almost always have large eyes, small mouths and noses. Also, they have over exaggerated emotions.

Manga....The traditional Japanese art. My opinions— My opinion of Manga artwork is that it is really interesting and I really enjoyed researching it. When I was drawing Manga it was really enjoyable and I think that it must take a lot of hard work for the people who make comics out of Manga art because it is very difficult and unique.
